Its unique hollow paddle design allows for uniform heat transfer and gentle stirring of wet or sticky materials, preventing agglomeration and ensuring even drying. It operates under vacuum or atmospheric conditions and is suitable for industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, and fertilizers. The dryer features low energy consumption, high drying efficiency, and easy cleaning, meeting strict GMP standards.
The hollow shaft is densely equipped with wedge-shaped hollow paddles, through which the heating medium flows. The heat transfer area per unit of effective volume is large, and the temperature of the heating medium can range from -40°C to 320°C. The heating medium can be steam or liquids such as hot water or thermal oil. Heat is transferred indirectly without carrying air away, so all the heat energy is used to heat the material. Heat loss is minimal and occurs only through the insulation layer of the equipment to the environment. The wedge-shaped paddle surfaces have a self-cleaning function. The relative movement between the material particles and the wedge surfaces produces a scrubbing action, which removes any material adhering to the paddle surfaces, keeping the heat transfer surface clean during operation.
The hollow paddle dryer has been successfully applied in the fields of food, chemical industry, petrochemicals, dyes, and industrial sludge. Examples include the thermal conversion of calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO4·2H2O) into calcium sulfate hemihydrate (CaSO4·½H2O), and the calcination of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) into soda ash (Na2CO3). By introducing cooling media such as water or chilled brine, the equipment can also be used for cooling purposes.
